We are undoubtedly living in the "End of the AGE" as stated in the Gospels, or "The Latter Times" spoken of by the prophets in the Old Testament. Let me say first of all this is not "THE GREAT TRIBULATION", but rather "THE BEGINNING OF SORROWS" as stated in the Gospels.
I will give you the list of "Scriptures in order of the above mentioned comments". Right now I intend to expand on a "Portion" of the period of time in which we live. We will look at St Luke 21 and 2 Thess 2, and 5.
Our first scripture comes from the Gospel of Luke...

Chapter 21

7       So they asked Him, saying, “Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?”
8       And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them. 9       But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.”
10       Then He said to them,  “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11       And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. 12       But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. 13       But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony. 14       Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; 15       for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist. 16       You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. 17       And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake.

Here in these passages of scripture are extremely important facts hiding in plain sight. First we have the Lord outlining the "conflicts that will explode because of an individual's commitment to Christ"...The word "Nation" in this context comes from the Greek word "Ethnos" the root for the English word 'Ethnic or Race". We read right through this and just think of it as another way to say "Kingdoms" which means "countries" or "governments". The problem is we miss the fact he is talking about the friction that will occur within racial communities because pressure based upon "social" rather than "spiritual" facts. This could manifest itself politically as we see the current administration ignoring basic biblical truths in so many areas that it draws a line in the sand not only within "Black American" community at large, but within families willing to compromise principals for racial pride and the historical  presedence. These tensions can explode violently and tragically this is going on around the world Tribal genocide in Africa, ethnic purification in Easter Europe, ongoing violence in Northern Ireland. This strips the argument of the "White Bigotry" label because like the U.S. Civil War which claimed over 800,000 lives because of the issue of "Slavery" what is on the horizon for our time will make it pale in comparison.

What would turn a racial group on itself? One word "TRUTH"...this word leaves no room for compromise, for in the Gospel of St John 14 Jesus declares..."I AM, THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE" no man can go to the FATHER but by me. Within the Black American Christian community we see a willingness by the Clergy to compromise for almost anything even to the point of "Joining forces with enemy's of Christ" to press a political and social agenda (what will a man give for his soul?) The most recent example was the so called "Million Man March on Washington" where thousands of prominent Christian Pastor lead or encouraged their congregations, friends and families to "GET ON THE BUS" we approach this Presidential election season for the believer the choice should not be difficult as the Apostle Paul stated in the book of Romans "Let God Be True and every man a lier"...last election the Rev. Jesse Jackson encouraged all Black people the "Leave Jesus outside the voting booth". I am not promoting any candidate, and will pray fervently a Godly man will enter the race, but I still won't endorse any politician. May it be sufficient to say we must judge a "Tree by the fruit that it bears"...look at their record and then the "WORD OF GOD". let me leave you with these passages of scripture and some for you to look up...and I hope the video attached will challenge and inspire you.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-3,8-11

5:1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you.
2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.

8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a
      helmet the hope of salvation.
9For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.

11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

 2 Thessalonians 2

2:1Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to
     Him, we ask you,
2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from
us, as though the day of Christ had come.
3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes
first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he
sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

* This term "falling away" is very significant and falls in line with the topic. It comes from the Greek word "apostesia" which simply put means to "Turn your back on or corrupt what you had believed" you have heard the word "Apostate" that is the individual that promotes the action.
